International film festival is the largest festival in Odessa

Odessa – a Ukrainian seaport and a beautiful resort with a rich cultural history and long-standing cinematic tradition. In 1894, a year and a half before the famous Lumiere brothers, Odessa engineer Joseph Timchenko presented to the public the projected “Moving pictures”. In 1907, the city opened the first on the territory of the former Russian Empire Studio, and since then, nearly 700 films were made there. Sergei Eisenstein, Alexander Dovzhenko and Dziga Vertov made Odessa a legendary place in the history of Ukrainian cinema.

POTEMKIN STAIRS – OPEN-AIR

Place, have owned the history of world cinema, famous in the world of the great Sergei Eisenstein in the film “the Battleship Potemkin”. At the festival, the famous staircase becomes a huge open-air cinema with views of the Black sea, collecting about 15 thousand spectators. Music festival “Prague autumn”

We are pleased to continue our tour through Prague autumn, and here we are again at the old town square, where twenty-seven white crosses remind about one of the saddest events in the history of the Czech Republic. In 1621 there was executed twenty-seven leaders of the Estates rebellion against the authority of the family of Habsburg and king Ferdinand II. Popular rumor has it that their ashes buried in the Church of the Holy Salvatorelli or in the walls of the Tyn Church.

The legend says that every year, on the day of his execution, the 21st June, the ghosts of the dead people can be seen next to the old tower. According to the legend, the ghosts of the murdered decided until the end of time to control the precision of the clock tower. If the clock is correct, then supposedly the Czech land is not in danger.
